Moccamaster's KBGV Select Coffee Maker is able to brew both a half and a full carafe of coffee to the Golden Cup Standard established by the Specialty Coffee Association. Wow! That means...nothing to me.
Oh wait, I take that back. Smooth move, Moccamaster. You anticipated I would say as much, and followed up your horn-tootin' intro with, "What that means to you - the most delicious coffee possible, no matter which amount you brew."
The Moccamaster KBGV Select Coffee Maker promises a perfect cup with every brew, be that brew the machine's full 40-ounce capacity, or a more modest, this-is-my-third-pot-today 20 ounces. A switch on the front toggles between full and half pots, and its adjacent switch turns the machine on and off. And those are the only two buttons on the KBGV Select, so it should be pretty easy to use, even when you're still half-asleep starting your day at 5 a.m., or half-dead pulling an all-nighter at 2 a.m.
Moccamaster leaves all other brewing processes and decisions to the KBGV Select. This includes brewing temperatures, which range between 196 and 205 degrees F, and shutoff time, which happens automatically after 100 minutes. Brew time for a full 40-ounce carafe takes 4 to 6 minutes.
