One thing I've learned in life is that people like quality, people like deals, and people like knives. If you consider yourself people, then the Opinel No 8 Carbon pocket knife is your opportunity to have all 3 of these things you like.
Both the Opinel tradition and value span back to the late 19th century in France. Originally French picnic knives, Opinel designs have maintained their cultural relevance with the line expanding to include several issues of table, outdoor, and EDC knives. All of them, including the No 8 Carbon shown here, consist of just 4 components: a blade, a hardwood handle, a rivet and a stainless steel locking collar to prevent accidental opening/closing. Opinel always aims for (or takes a stab at, if you prefer) safety, ease of use, and parts that don't effing break.
The carbon steel blade of the No 8 measures 3-1/4" long, and the entire knife 4-1/4" long closed and 7-3/4" open.
