Seabob, an animatronic shark costume visual effects designers VFXLAB recently took for a test swim in the San Bernardino Doubletree Hotel pool, is many things. Funny, a good prank, and a way for my friend Cornelius to get me back for the Peeper Creeper outside his living room window during his first Netflix & chill date with a Bumble girl are NOT amongst them. And I swear to Ian Ziering, Cornelius, if you get ahold of a Seabob and bring it anywhere near me, on water or on land, you are going to wake up one morning in a giant dumpster full of spiders and raw shrimp.
Cornelius is as afraid of spiders as I am of sharks.
He also has a shellfish allergy.
For those who want a quick and dirty look at what the diver inside Seabob can make the horrifically realistic Jaws do, here's a GIF. The VFXLAB crew, including founder, Bob Wasson, Zane Wasson, Gary Wasson, and Jim Arbaugh said guests were present during their shark testing and filming, and "were a little scared even knowing what it was."
