[ET] of the Most Expensive Things For Sale On Amazon

I tried to curate my collection of 11 of the most expensive things for sale on Amazon not just according to their cost, but also their substance, how well they present, whether or not I looked at their price, read their description, and still wondered, What is this thing? So I guess a better way to put it would be 11 of the most expensive items on Amazon that are actually of interest.

I make no claims about the authenticity of these products, particularly the antique and ancient pieces, nor do I know how reliable their sellers are. But they are legit Amazon products, at least in the sense that their listings exist, with multiple images and item descriptions, and their sellers are really hawking them for the quoted price.

For entertainment value, I mostly stuck to one or two of each type of exorbitantly expensive item - diamonds and precious gems, watches, rugs, collectibles, ancient Chinese battle armor. I also didn't bother with items that had high price tags, but no discernible images.

So check them out, 11 of the most expensive things for sale on Amazon.

Antique Indian Hand-Knotted Wool Octagon Rug

Who's ready to step onto the Octagon? ... Hey!

Don't even think about stepping onto the Octagon without taking your shoes off first!

This 21' x 21' green and burgundy accented rug was handmade in India around 1880. And if you think $350K is a steep asking price for an old carpet, keep in mind seller MORugs estimates its actual retail price at $400K. Yeah, that's right. You're getting a deal, son.

Mysticdrop 56.34-Carat Black Diamond

Mysticdrop 56.34-Carat Black Diamond

I told my wife she was getting coal in her stocking last Christmas, but really I stuffed it with this Mysticdrop 56.34-carat black diamond.

Haha, sike! Who am I, Clooney? She got coal.

But seriously, for all the braggarts out there who spent last winter droning on about all the black diamonds and double black diamonds they've slayed, here. Let's see you get this one.

Roberto Clemente 1955 Topps Rookie Card (#164)

Roberto Clemente 1955 Topps Rookie Card (#164)

I'm not saying it's worth the price, but the the 1955 Topps Roberto Clemente rookie card is a coveted item amongst baseball card collectors, especially when it's in good condition. Some say the Pittsburgh Pirate's rookie card teams up with those of Harmon Killebrew and Sandy Koufax to form a triumvirate of Topps' best overall productions.

Patek Philippe Nautilus Rose Gold Men's Watch

Patek Philippe Nautilus Rose Gold Men's Watch

No antique status or dozens of carats needed here. Patek Philippe watches are, and always have been, some of the most expensive on the market. Their "sporty" Nautilus model debuted in 1976, and today's version maintains the original's rounded octagonal bezel shape and porthole-style case construction.

Patek Philippe makes the Nautilus in both men's and women's versions, as well as in steel, rose gold, white gold, and two-tone combinations. The one selling on Amazon is rose gold.

6.88-Carat Yellow, Pink & White Diamond Engagement Ring

6.88-Carat Yellow, Pink & White Diamond Engagement Ring

I just feel like if you told your girl she could spend 100 G's on an engagement ring, pretty as this multi-colored pear-shaped diamond and 18K white gold creation is, she might want to, like, try it on in person. And not have to trust that UPS won't lose the package, or wonder if some punk kid is going to steal it off her porch if she's not home when it's delivered.

SLEDhaus Prefab Tiny Home

SLEDhaus Prefab Tiny Home

The SLEDhaus arrives as a 572-square-foot tiny home retreat, which breaks down to only $218/square foot, which isn't bad. At least not until you add in the costs of plumbing, heating, and lighting the thing.

The prefabricated cabin has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, though somehow "comfortably" accommodates 7 people. My favorite part about it is the Amazon listing itself, which shows the SLEDhaus plopped down on a block full of McMansions.

Alright Mr. DeMille, the inside of my bellybutton, the middle pore on my left nostril, and the mole on my back I should probably get checked out are ready for their close-ups!

There are telephoto lenses. There are zoom lenses. And then there's this lens: the Sigma Ultra-Telephoto Zoom Lens. It's the size of a small child with the vision of...uh...a small child whose dad is Superman.

Giant Swiss Army Knife

Giant Swiss Army Knife

Screw light, low-profile, and practical. I live in the USA. I want the biggest and the best. Even if the biggest and the best means so cumbersome and heavy it makes me look like I have a gimp leg when I carry it in my pants pocket. Despite being based in Switzerland, I bet Wenger sells 90% of its Swiss Army Giants in the USA. Why? Because USA = #1.

In everything.
