Who would claim you can "get smarter while swearing at your friends?" F**kin' Australia, mates. F**k. The Game is an Aussie issue, and a mind trip of cards and colors and good ol' cussin' for us all. It's a spirited party game the makers say won't just leave players with mouths in need of a good washing, but also brains trained to see and react a little quicker.
F**k. The Game cards are printed with different combinations of background colors, text colors, and swear words. Each round a player flips over a card and yells out a word according to the rules of play. The rules:
- If the color of the card's text is black, you yell out the background color.
- If the color of the card's text is any color but black, you yell out the text color.
- If the text word is a swear word, you yell out the swear word. Unless...
- The swear word is "Fuck." You never say "Fuck." If the word is "Fuck" you revert to rules 1 and 2, yelling out background or text colors.
When someone f**ks up they must pick up all the cards in the growing pile. The person to get rid of all their cards first is the winner.
F**k. The Game f**ks with your mind courtesy of a psychological phenomenon called the Stroop effect, an interference in the brain's ability to interpret and react at normal speed when words denoting one color are printed in another color. People can't help but misspeak sometimes, especially under competitive pressure, and when that happens here, it's usually...F**k!...hilarious.
