Roasting marshmallows and making s'mores over an open flame is such grand fun. At least until someone falls into the burning ring of fire and doesn't live to sing about it like Johnny Cash. Then it's kind of a downer. Avoid burning flesh and downers with this indoor flameless marshmallow roaster.
Above a stainless steel electric heater, the tabletop setup toasts marshmallows supposedly indistinguishable from those puffed and blackened over a campfire. This makes s'mores assembly an activity suitable for the living room coffee table--or my bedroom night stand--plus safe for use by children, the blind, and people with congenital insensitivity to pain.
The indoor marshmallow roaster also includes 4 skewering forks and trays for storing chocolate and graham cracker accoutrements. My favorite way to make s'mores is with these French cookies called Petit Ecoliers. Partly because they have ornate shelled edges and a dapperly dressed French boy stamped into each cookie, and I'm fancy like that, and partly because the top layer is solid chocolate, pre-cut, portioned, and affixed to the biscuit below, and I'm lazy like that.
