Chronos isn't an activity tracker watch, it's an activity tracker for your watch. You know, the Rolex, the Montblanc, the Casio Calculator watch you already own. The 3mm Chronos disc slips under and adheres to your existing watch's case, and from there performs all of the same feats of sensing and data collecting as other full-watch activity trackers that might not be your style.
The Chronos disc tracks, steps, distance, stairs, and active time, and beams the info to a smartphone/tablet app for the same storage and analytics capabilities as your (uggo, or at least sometimes-too-casual) Fitbits and Jawbone UPs. Chronos can also receive phone notifications and serve as a controller to silence calls, skip music tracks, etc.
Chronos uses micro-suction technology to attach and detach from watches easily, and without leaving residues or stickiness behind. Its 3mm thickness and 33mm diameter should fit over 80% of the watches sold today. Additional Chronos specs include:
- Stainless steel casing
- Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy integration
- Water-resistant construction
- 36-hour battery life
- Wireless charging
- Accelerometer
- Haptic vibration and LED notifications
At printing the Chronos disc was available for pre-order directly from the Chronos website.
