Sola Cube Micro
The Solo Cube Micro series has Father's Day gift for Dad written along every stroke of its microorganism replicas' laser-engraved glass. Each of these pieces of biological desktop art is a 3D portrait of a microorganism, ranging from volvox carteri to enterobacteria phage T4, envisioned from its 2D view in a microscope, and carved into a high transparency optical glass cube. Add some backlight and your Sola Cube Micro will (almost) come to life.
Sola Cube Micro art is designed and made by Usagi no Nedoko, a natural art shop, cafe, and - huh - Air B&B-style lodging for a group of 5, based out of Kyoto, Japan. The images they suspend in their glass come from photos taken of the microorganisms under a microscope, with the laser engraving process retaining most of the images' detail to produce lifelike, albeit crazy supersized, results.
