I'm trying to think of a way to spin the Chemist's Spice Rack into something besides the perfect gift for a complete culinary geek, but...donut hole. Then again, as evidenced by the comments on ThinkGeek's listing of the kitchen set, even that community has blacklisted it due to a labeling discrepancy. Like, Salt is abbreviated Sa on its name tag instead of NaCl. And that's some bullshit.
However, for those nerdy enough to want a Chemist's Spice Rack, but not so nerdy they rip it to shreds for technical inaccuracies, the collection includes: 9 spice test tubes with stoppers for smaller spices; 3 lab flasks pre-selected for salt, pepper, and sugar; 1 large lab flask with a pouring spout for oil; and 1 metal carrying tray. Buyers will have a choice of which spices to add to their test tubes, with 54 periodic table-style (but not accurate) labels thrown in for self-application.
