Cold brew coffee making seems to require a little more finagling and finesse than fixing up a batch of iced tea. And patience. To make it the "right" way you have to let the sweet sludge steep for at least 12 hours. KitchenAid's Cold Brew Coffee Maker does nothing to speed up the process, but for those willing to wait, it gets rave reviews on its performance and convenience.

The block-style, built-in-tap design KitchenAid chose makes the 8" x 7" x 6.9" unit easy to slide onto a shelf in the fridge. If you can spare the space, you can make it a permanent fixture there, brewing your coffee in chilled temps from the start of the process. You can also brew and store the coffee maker at room temperature on your countertop, but in the refrigerator a batch (up to 14 servings) will stay fresh and continue to pack its bitter, acidic punch for around 2 weeks.

The KitchenAid Cold Brew Coffee Maker has a reusable stainless steel steeper with fill level indicators for adding your desired quantity of ground beans. Once brewed, the cold brew will be pretty concentrated, and KitchenAid recommends mixing 2 ounces of it into 6 ounces of milk, water, ice, or the black bottom cupcakes your fiancee has agreed to bake for you in exchange for you letting her watch an entire night of Bravo TV without comment.
