The Bissell Barkbath sees you. Sittin' at home. Coronavirus quarantined. Your dog's so damn happy he could do a backflip. Hey, maybe with all this spare time on your hands, you should teach your dog how to do a backflip. Right after you give him a bath, because holy dunk in the pond and roll in squirrel shit does he stink!

The Bissell Barkbath is a portable dog wash the company says "can be used to wash your dog in any room of the house, anytime, with minimal mess." Right. Grooming the dirt and stink out of your dog in the living room, right on top of your refinished hardwoods. Or why stop there? Let's take this dog washin' to the couch! Because that works...how, exactly?

Bissell insists the Barkbath needs less than 68 ounces of water to clean up to an 80-pound pooch with any length fur or hair. The system uses no-rinse shampoo, and a groom wand with 3 customizable spray nozzles that penetrate fur and allow the water and shampoo mixture to clean down to your dog's skin. At the same time, a soft suction pulls dirt and the used water away, into a separate dirty water tank, in a process that sounds to me a lot like the spray-suck action that goes on when I get me teeth cleaned at the dentist. The Barkbath also comes with 3 customizable grooming tips that will brush your dog's coat and they're cleaning it.

The downside to all of this portable, mess-free canine cleaning action is that when in use the Barkbath sounds like - dun-dun-dun - a vacuum cleaner, and Bissell warns, "For best results, your dog should not be afraid of the sound of a vacuum." Which pretty much eliminates 80% of dogs, and reminds of of the pet grooming tool attachment for actual vacuum cleaners I wrote about previously.

If you're one of the lucky dogs who has a dog unperturbed by vacuum sounds, the Bissell Barkbath is probably a pretty cool tool to have for at-home grooming, especially when you just want a quick cleanup, or don't want to shell out a hundo for a professional service. Also, there's the dual use matter I mentioned in the Barkbath title. After your pup is all puffed up and smelling like Oatmeal, Honey Blossom, or White Tea & Aloe (Bissell's Barkbath Shampoo scents) you can convert your Barkbath to a portable carpet and upholstery cleaner, and use it to scrub and suction away dust, dirt, and even persistent stains.
