I'm showing you this Spartan Shield fire resistant (and water resistant) bag because I just ordered one for myself. I hope I never need it, but I have one friend whose house narrowly escaped wipeout from Hurricane Irma in September, and another whose house wasn't so lucky when the California fires swept through Santa Rosa a month later.
There are a ton of these types of protective pouches available on Amazon - most are highly rated. I picked the Spartan Shield because, at 16" x 12" x 3.5", it's bigger than many of the others. Big enough to hold a laptop and jewelry and the baby afghan my grandma crocheted for me when I was born, along with passports, titles, and the fat wads of cash I'm sure I'll be raking in any day now.
Spartan Shield protective bags are made of silicon-coated fiberglass lined with heat-blocking aluminum foil, and sealed shut with a heavy duty zipper. They are fire rated to resist flames of up 1100 degrees F, as well as repellant to smoke and water. Spartan Shield also says it's insides are "100% non-itchy" but I don't really know how that's a selling point. It might be roomy for folders and hard drives, but it's not like I could climb in there myself while I wait for the firefighters to rescue me.
The Spartan Shield also has a shoulder stray so you can carry it like a messenger bag, and is flexible enough to fold and squash inside a fireproof safe, which most of these types of protective pouches recommended using as well.
