Medieval knight helmets. That's what hip nanas who know what it means to give their grandsons street cred crochet. Now I don't know if Dee Forrest is a grandma, but she's definitely privy to what the cool kids these days are looking for in their yarn-based accessories. Wearing her hand-crocheted hat with button-on, movable face warmer will leave no doubt that a distinguished man of valor and chivalry--one who respects his elders--has entered the room. It also won't set you back $218 like the Medieval Knight Hoodie. Though it's probably slightly itchier and, despite being loop-de-looped from washable acrylic yarn, may give you a face rash.
Crocheted Knight Helmets come in standard adult/teen circumference sizes of 20-1/2" to 22-1/2". Watermelon and Alec Baldwin heads that require size increases should let Forrest know upon order.
And if you want to prepare your infant for a life of chain mail and jousting, check out Forrest's Crocheted Knight Helmet & Bootie set ($40).
August 2013 Update: Dudes, Forrest seems to be crocheted out of knight headwear. It's questionable whether or not she even still has fingers. Thankfully, we live in a time wherein if one person creates something popular and profitable, a hundred other people copy it and hope to follow suit. Check out the host of crafty Amazon vendors also yarning and selling the helmets, seemingly with equal skill and valor.
