I don't really need another cast metal telescoping ring fashioned in the steampunk style, but I can be convinced to buy pretty much anything for the right price. And at half off/$9.99 at printing, Captain Jules' Extraordinary Telescope Ring falls squarely into my fiscal comfort zone. I mean, I have 10 fingers spread over 2 hands; I'm sure I can find somewhere to put it. If not, I'll just sell it for double to some schmuck 12-year-old at Comic-Con next month.
A formidable, heroic, revered, and entirely made up Captain of the land and sea, Jules' death at the hand of a giant squid with a grandfather clock face and plasma-blasting tentacles came as a shock to everyone. Thankfully, divers were able to recover his Extraordinary Telescope Ring. Made of lightweight aluminum and finished in aged bronze, the behemoth's pair of lenses unfold and slide apart to form a nifty telescope with a magnetic compass at its center (demo here). The larger lens also flips to function as a magnifying glass.
Telescope rings come in sizes 5, 8, and 11, with steampunky hardware scaled proportionate to each. Fully extended, telescope length is 4-1/2".
The Captain Jules' Extraordinary Telescope Ring is a top Dude Gift for a Geek pick.
